Job Summary:

The Assistant Financial Controller assists the Controller and CFO in overseeing the daily accounting operations and is responsible for financial reporting of all entities, including oversight of the reporting process. This position will help guide the company’s strategic financial decisions.

Responsibilities:
  1. Assist in oversight of local accounting functions, analyses of financial data, maintenance of supporting documentation, and preparation of financial reporting requirements in accordance with US GAAP.
  2. Prepare and communicate data summarizing and forecasting company business activity and position, including budgeting, supported by documentation and justification.
  3. Engage with management to improve operational performance, identify opportunities, develop strategies, and support cost savings or process improvements.
  4. Ensure documentation and procedures align with company policies.
  5. Communicate current operational performance to senior management using key metrics and forecasts.
  6. Refine and develop key performance metrics.
  7. Coordinate and prepare for audits, ensuring the integrity of financial information.
  8. Ensure accuracy of cost accounting methods.
  9. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  10. Train and coach team members on financial and operational performance basics.
  11. Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and manage adherence processes.
  12. Handle tax assessments, filings, and inquiries.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience.
  • CPA or CMA licensure or progress towards is preferred.
  • At least 2 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in healthcare/TPA.
  • Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, financial statement preparation, and analysis.
  • Proficiency with accounting software, preferably QuickBooks.
  • Strong MS Excel skills, including formulas and macros.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Attention to detail, judgment, confidentiality, problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to adapt, prioritize, and plan effectively.
Physical and Cognitive Demands:

Includes constant talking, hearing, speaking, manual dexterity, visual acuity, and regular attendance. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and perform cognitive tasks such as learning, problem-solving, and decision-making.

Work Environment:

Indoor office setting with low to moderate noise levels. The duties are primarily sedentary, requiring sitting for most of the shift.

This description is subject to change, and other duties may be assigned. Employment is at-will. Salary range is $90,000-$125,000, based on experience and location.
