Job summary

Highbury Canco Corporation seeks a motivated Powerhouse Engineer to lead operation and maintenance of critical utility systems within our Leamington facility. You will supervise operating engineers and contractors, ensuring safe, reliable powerplant performance to support all production lines.

The role requires possession of a 1st Class Ontario Operating Engineer license and a track record of maintaining complex plant systems with strong safety practices.

Qualifications

  • Valid Ontario 1st Class Operating Engineer's license.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as 1st Class Operating/Stationary Engineer and/or 5 years as 2nd Class Operating/Stationary Engineer.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee operation, maintenance and repair of building systems equipment to support power generation.
  • Supervise and coordinate 2nd/3rd/4th Class Operating Engineers and contractors for maintenance activities.
  • Maintain operational logs, CFIA/quality documentation for audit and compliance.

ties:The Assistant Powerhouse Chief will report directly to our Utilities Services Manager/Chief Engineer and assist them in being responsible for the operation, maintenance and repair of building systems equipment and facilities to provide highly reliable utility support to all HCC industrial processes and facility requirements. Equipment includes HVAC, boilers, chillers, steam turbines and engines, gas compression systems, air compressors and purified water systems, and associated mechanical and electrical systems in power generation. This position has supervisory and managerial responsibility of all onsite Operating Engineers (2nd Class, 3rd Class, 4th Class and Co-op positi

  • Assist in ensuring the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of a 1st Class high-pressure steam plant, including cogeneration systems, boilers, air compressors, water treatment systems, ammonia refrigeration, air scrubbers, and related equi
  • pment.Support the planning, scheduling, and direction of 2nd Class Operating Engineers and external contractors in carrying out corrective and preventative maintenance activ
  • ities.Ensuring all required operational logs, utilities logs, records, and CFIA/quality documentation are completed, reviewed, and properly maintained for audit and compliance pur
