The Hilton Des Moines Downtown is a modern hotel located in the vibrant, tech-focused area. Connected to the Iowa Events Center via the Des Moines Skywalk system, it offers convenient access to offices, dining, and attractions. The hotel features a signature restaurant, indoor pool, fitness center, 330 guest rooms, and 19,338 sq. ft. of event space.

The Banquets Department is seeking an Assistant Banquet Manager. The ideal candidate will have supervisory experience in restaurants or banquets, a positive attitude, and a focus on guest service. This role offers an opportunity to join a dynamic team, work in a downtown hotel, and advance your career within Hilton.

What will I be doing?

As an Assistant Banquet Manager, you will assist in planning, organizing, and executing banquet functions to deliver outstanding guest service and ensure financial profitability. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing banquet operations, including guest service standards, product quality, cost control, marketing, budgeting, and policy enforcement.
  • Supervising food and beverage setup and cleanup.
  • Planning and executing various banquet events such as breakfasts, luncheons, dinners, receptions, and galas.
  • Monitoring and developing team member performance through supervision, scheduling, counseling, and recognition.
  • Participating in recruiting, interviewing, and training staff.
  • Greeting clients and responding promptly to guest requests.
