Farm Boy Inc. in Oakville, Ontario, is seeking a hands-on Supervisor for a six-month contract to work with the Department Manager in delivering exceptional customer service and operational excellence.

You will coach, engage the team, and help execute departmental goals while maintaining high standards for service, merchandising, and safety. The ideal candidate has post-secondary business education and at least one year of supervisory experience, with strong organizational and communication

• Completion of a post-secondary program with an emphasis in business and a minimum of 1 year of supervisory or management experience.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing competing priorities with high performance.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills and clear professional communication.
• Comfort with using manual and automated systems and various computer software programs.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, perform heavy lifting, and work in cooler/freezer/outdoor conditions.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Fluency in English; French language skills are an asset.

• Promote compliance with Safe Food Handling and Health & Safety policies and provincial regulations.
• Contribute to store success by performing related duties as required.

• Work closely with the Department Manager to execute departmental strategies and achieve stated goals and performance objectives.
• Support team development through training, coaching, motivation, and recognition while maintaining a high level of trust, confidentiality, and professionalism.
• Lead regular team huddles to share goals, recognize achievements, exchange product knowledge, and provide meaningful feedback to build engagement and connection.
• Support daily operations by ensuring outstanding customer service, accurate merchandising and rotation, adequate staffing coverage, and consistent department cleanliness.
• Provide office and administrative support, including inventory management, ordering, invoicing, schedule maintenance, and payroll functions.
• Promote compliance with all Safe Food Handling and Health & Safety policies, procedures, and provincial regulations to maintain a safe and high-quality shopping environment.
• Contribute to store success by assisting with other related duties as required.

Qualifications

• A genuine passion for delivering engaging and exceptional customer service.
• Completion of a post-secondary program with an emphasis in business, plus a minimum of 1 year of progressively responsible supervisory or management experience in a similar role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment by effectively managing competing priorities while maintaining a high level of performance.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills supported by a clear, professional communication style.
• Comfort learning and using manual and automated systems, with prior experience working with a variety of computer software programs.
• Thrive in a hands-on setting that involves extended periods of standing, heavy lifting, and work that may be performed in cooler, freezer, and outdoor conditions.
• Flexibility to work a dynamic schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Fluency in English; French language skills considered an asset.
