The Christ School is seeking an Assistant Athletic Coach to support the Director of Athletics and help develop student-athletes. The role emphasizes faith-based values, sports coaching expertise, and strong communication with staff and families.

You will collaborate with the coaching staff to run tryouts, manage equipment, and host clinics, while upholding the school's mission and spiritual standards. Travel and physical duties are part of the role, with a commitment to safety and student growth.

Qualifications

• Proven coaching experience in the sport they are coaching.
• Evidence and articulate a faith and relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
• Proficiency in Google Suite (docs, sheets, gmail, calendar) and GameChanger.
• Highly effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be able to traverse uneven ground and manage students.
• Must be able to ascend/descend stairs and lift 10–15 pounds.
• Must have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Coach in creating a positive environment for student-athletes to learn and grow in the sport they are passionate about.
• Assist Head Coach in hosting tryouts and evaluations to select candidates for the upcoming season.
• Manage Equipment.
• Communicate effectively with parents, officials, and the Athletics Director.
• Host development clinics to grow the sport and culture at The Christ School.

A TCS Teacher/Staff Exhibits

• A deep faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and acceptance of the authority of Scriptures as a guide for faith and living
• Actively pursues spiritual growth through personal devotions, Bible study, church involvement, etc.
• Understand and actively support The Christ School's mission, vision, and defining characteristics
• Proficiency in GoogleSuite (docs, sheets, gmail, calendar)
• Highly effective verbal and written communication skills
• Must be able to effectively traverse possibly uneven ground
• Must be able to ascend/descend multiple flights of stairs and transport about 10-15 pounds

General Responsibilities

Physical Requirements

• Must have the ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time
• Physical agility to lift up to 25 pounds
• Ability to bend, to stoop, to sit on the floor, to climb stairs, to walk, and to reach overhead

Special Requirements

• Employment is conditional upon the successful completion of a background investigation.
• First Aid and CPR certification within the first 90 days of employment. (Can be provided by employer)
• Previous proven Head or Assistant Coaching involvement at the interscholastic or club level.
