Position: Assistant/Associate Professor & Endowed Dr. James Russell Myers Engineering Technology Professorship in Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology

Focus on Industry 4.0 and Digital Transformation. The role involves teaching, developing undergraduate courses and labs in Electro-Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Automation, conducting research, and maintaining ABET/ETAC accreditation. Anticipated start date: August 2025.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Teaching and course development in areas such as process control, instrumentation, automation, control systems, manufacturing, dynamics, fluid mechanics, PLC, Industry 4.0, and robotics.
  2. Providing service to the department, college, university, and profession.
  3. Advising students in Electro-Mechanical Engineering.
  4. Maintaining ABET/ETAC accreditation standards.
  5. Conducting research leading to peer-reviewed publications.
  6. Securing external research funding.
  7. Establishing industry partnerships.
About the Department and Institution:

The Department of Engineering Technology offers ABET/ETAC-accredited bachelor’s and associate degrees in various engineering technology fields, including recent programs in Robotics Engineering Technology. Miami University is a respected public university with multiple campuses in Ohio and Luxembourg, known for excellent teaching and career development opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Doctoral degree in Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field. For Associate Professor, an established research record is required.
  • Industry experience and/or teaching experience in Engineering Technology is considered favorably.
  • Experience with external funding, Industry 4.0, electromechanical systems, and ABET standards.
  • Professional Engineering License preferred.
  • Effective communication skills in English.
