Job summary

Ontario Clean Water Agency is seeking an Asset Maintenance Specialist in Espanola, ON to maintain and update the CMMS database, collect field asset data, and develop maintenance plans for water and wastewater systems. In this role, you will maintain and update the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) database; conduct field asset data collection, develop maintenance plans, analyze and research maintenance practices, procedures and implement findings; conduct research and evaluations into emerging technologies, equipment and maintenance methodologies; provide ongoing support and advice to staff on maintenance and maintenance issues. Mandatory Demonstrated knowledge and application of asset management principles and best practices. Technical knowledge of the theories, principles, practices and certification related to the functional/plant areas of work in water and wastewater maintenance operations and administration. Ability to travel within the Northeastern Region Valid G Driver’s License Knowledge Good working knowledge of Agency, regulatory and legislative acts, codes, policies, guidelines and procedures related to water/wastewater maintenance operations and health and safety. Working knowledge of policies, standards and methods, environmental impact issues, water quality assurance techniques. Knowledge and interpretative understanding of environmental legislation (OWRA, EPA, EAA, EBR). Extensive knowledge of project management principles/practices. Knowledge of CMMS, WMS and PC software. Skills and Ability include Excellent oral and written skills to liaise with colleagues, vendors and clients and prepare reports. Presentation skills to facilitate group meetings and develop and execute formal presentations. Skills in the evaluation of business results to improve business performance and make recommendations. Problem solving and analytical skills to provide technical guidance and resolve day-to-day technical issues. Planning and organizational skills to lead projects. Assist the Capital Manager where necessary in all aspects of the development and management of Third Party Service Agreements, Tender and RFP packages. Assist the Capital Manager in the coordination and oversight of major maintenance and capital projects. Familiarity with data visualization software.

OCWA’s Operator Career Path Program:

The Operator Career Path Program provides learning, continuing education, career development and certification advancement opportunities. As you develop and obtain higher level licenses, you will progress through the Operator Career Path with increased operational responsibilities as well as training and mentoring opportunities. When you successfully obtain a higher certification/license, you will be eligible for additional base or premium pay in accordance with the schedule below. OCWA offers internal career progression for Operators through the Operator Career Path to encourage them to pursue higher‑level licences. The salary ranges below will be applied based on the certification you hold at the time of hire and will be progressed internally upon obtaining higher‑level certification/license: $24.88 to $26.41 per hour (OIT) $27.92 to $31.06 per hour (Level 1 Operator) $29.49 to $32.83 per hour (Level 2 Operator) $30.67 to $38.04 per hour (Level 3 or 4 Operator)
