Job summary

Whitecap Resources Inc. in Alberta is seeking an Asset Integrity Inspector to perform inspections across boilers, vessels, piping, tanks, and related equipment within the Kaybob Operating area.

The role requires travel to field and office locations in Alberta, with preference for living near Fox Creek or Whitecourt. You will collaborate with Engineering, Operations and Maintenance to manage integrity throughout the asset life cycle, develop repair plans, and ensure compliance with PEIMS,

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of field inspection experience in oil & gas.
• API inspector certifications (510/570/653) preferred.
• ABSA ISI-BPVPP or ISI-PVPP certification preferred.
• Knowledge of CSA B51 and ASME codes required.

Responsibilities

• Perform internal, external and installation inspections.
• Coordinate NDT and visual inspections by third parties.
• Develop inspection scopes and repair plans; supervise repairs.
• Maintain asset inventories and regulatory databases.
• Ensure PEIMS program compliance and support regulatory audits.

Our corporate philosophy allows us to develop skills, collaborate alongside our teammates, and ultimately have a fulfilling career.Position Overview:Working within the Asset Integrity Team, the Asset Integrity Inspector is responsible for performing a wide range of integrity management activities as prescribed in Whitecap’s Pressure Equipment Integrity Management System manual. The successful candidate will work with Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance teams throughout the entire life cycle of Whitecap’s equipment including design, installation, commissioning, operations, inspection, repair and eventual decommissioning. The Asset Integrity Inspector will be responsible for the integrity management of all boilers, pressure vessels, pressure relief devices, storage tanks and on-lease and above ground piping within the Kaybob Operating area.The successful candidate will be required to travel to field and office locations within Alberta, as required. It is preferred that the successful candidate live within a reasonable distance from Fox Creek or Whitecourt, AB.Responsibilities:Perform internal, external and installation inspections.Coordinate non-destructive testing and visual inspection activities completed by third parties.Complete integrity assessments on pressure equipment and assign inspection intervals.Develop equipment repair plans and aid in the coordination of repair activities including direct supervision and certification of repair activities.Develop and update inspection scopes of work and coordinate vendors to execute the inspections.Evaluate and assess PSV service reports.Support the implementation of our PEIMS program.Participate in Field & Asset Integrity team meetings.Report incidents and failures to regulatory bodies and the corporate Chief Inspector.Support internal conformance reviews, regulatory audits, failure analyses and risk assessments.Work with provincial regulators to ensure corporate and regulatory compliance.Responsible for maintaining accurate asset inventories and operating status within corporate and regulatory databases.Provide technical inspection assistance to engineering and construction teams.Inspect and recommend protective coating systems and repairs.Remain up to date and knowledgeable on all applicable codes, standards, and regulations.Field coordination and cost control for integrity monitoring and assessment activities.Provide Asset Integrity support in other Whitecap Operating areas as needed.Qualifications:Minimum of 5 years of experience within the oil & gas industry in a similar role with 5 years of experience completing in-field inspections.API 510, preference given to 570 and 653 Inspector Certifications.ABSA ISI-BPVPP or ISI-PVPP CertificationWorking knowledge of applicable industry codes such as CSA B51, ASME SEC I, IV, VIII, IX, B31.3, B31.1 and API Inspection CodesWorking knowledge of welding procedures, processes and NDE techniques.Standard oil and gas safety tickets
