The role is based in Grande Prairie with occasional travel to field locations, reporting to the Manager, Asset Integrity. You will collaborate with Field Operators and asset teams to enhance safety, cost performance, and asset integrity across facilities.

Qualifications

  • Second or third year in a Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Materials Engineering, or Welding Engineering Technology and returning to school next term.
  • Valid Class 5 license with rural driving experience.
  • Strong computer and data analysis skills.
  • Intermediate MS Office/365 skills including Excel, Word and PowerPoint and prior experience with industry related software and visualization tools.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills and ability to build positive relationships across the organization.
  • Willingness to learn, attention to detail, and ability to work independently within a team.

Responsibilities

  • Create GAP analysis for asset integrity systems such as PIRM, MaxiTrak, and Cambio.
  • Validate field assets by field truthing pressure equipment and pipeline assets.
  • Facilitate integration of ARC corporate systems for planning and budgeting of asset integrity activities.
  • KPI tracking and system building for asset integrity.
  • Asset integrity program and standards development.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to understand asset performance and integrity across assets.
  • Travel to ARC field locations as required.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

We are currently seeking an Asset Integrity Engineering Summer Student to join our Asset Integrity team. The work term will commence in May 2027 and last for a 4-month period. This position is based in Grande Prairie with occasional travel to field locations.


Reporting to the Manager, Asset Integrity, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to build their experience through collaboration with Field Operators as well as various asset team members across Facilities, Production, Surface Land, Safety, Environmental Sustainability, and Regulatory to enhance understanding of safety, operational, and cost performance of our integrity systems and assets.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create GAP analysis for asset integrity systems such as:
    • PIRM (pipeline risk assessment system)
    • MaxiTrak (pressure equipment integrity database)
    • Cambio (geotechnical hazard management database)
  • Validate field assets by field truthing pressure equipment and pipeline physical field assets
  • Facilitate integration of ARC corporate systems to asset integrity systems (corporate budget hierarchy) for planning and budgeting of asset integrity activities
  • KPI tracking and system building
  • Asset integrity program and standards building and development
  • Collaborate with technical teams to gain a holistic understanding of asset performance and integrity of our various assets
  • Travel to ARC’s field locations as required

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO ARC:

  • This position is ideally suited for a student currently in their second or third year of aBachelor of Science in Engineering or Materials Engineering, or currently in a Welding Engineering Technology program and are returning to school the following term
  • Valid Class 5 license with experience driving on rural roads
  • Strong computer and data analysis skills are considered an asset
  • Intermediate MS Office/365 skills including Excel, Word and PowerPoint and prior experience with industry related software and visualization tools is considered an asset
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills and can develop positive working relationships with all levels of the organization
  • Willingness to learn with a strong attention to detail
  • Must be able to work independently within a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities at the same time in a dynamic environment
