Job summary

BMO Financial Group in Canada seeks an Asset Based Lending Associate to support loan origination and client portfolio management for a growing client base across diverse industries. You will prepare credit packages, analyze financial data, and collaborate with internal partners to optimize risk-adjusted financing solutions.

The role emphasizes accuracy, collaboration, and timely decisions, with exposure to senior debt opportunities and ongoing monitoring of client financial performance.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, or business administration (BCom/BBA/HBA).
• Other financial designations considered an asset (i.e., CPA, CFA, MBA, etc.).
• Minimum 2 years of commercial or corporate credit experience, preferably in a transaction execution role.
• Previous asset-based lending experience is a definite asset.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with focus on financial data.

Responsibilities

• Conduct financial analysis to identify key risk signals and potential mitigations.
• Monitor financial reporting, covenants, and collateral to detect deteriorating credit conditions.
• Analyze credit information to support lending decisions for new, renewal, and extension of loans.
• Assist in negotiations of terms and conditions of loan agreements.
• Help minimize risk exposure by adhering to internal credit policies and procedures.
• Build relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
• Execute broader work or accountabilities as needed.
