Job summary

BMO Financial Group is seeking an Associate for the Asset Based Lending (ABL) group. You will conduct financial analysis, monitor client portfolios, and prepare credit packages to support lending decisions in a growing Canadian portfolio.

You will collaborate with internal partners to manage relationships, assess risk, and structure deals, while ensuring compliance with loan agreements. Fluency in French and English is required.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, or business administration.
• CPA, CFA, MBA or equivalent assets are a plus.
• Minimum 2 years of commercial or corporate credit experience.
• Asset-based lending experience is a plus.
• Good understanding of Asset-Based Lending products and loan structuring.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Strong organizational and collaboration skills; able to manage multiple tasks.
• Fluent in French and English.

Responsibilities

• Conduct financial analysis to identify risks and mitigation strategies. Monitors covenants and collateral for portfolio.
• Analyze credit information to support lending decisions for new, renewal and extensions.
• Prepare credit packages with recommendations on risk, deal structure and client requirements.
• Collaborate with internal partners to manage existing relationships and grow the portfolio.
