Job summary

Amphenol Borisch Technologies is seeking an Assembly Technician to join our defense and aerospace electronics team in London, Ontario. The role involves assembling and repairing electronic components and wiring harnesses to exact specifications, using hand tools and soldering, while interpreting drawings and work instructions.

Candidates should have a college diploma in electronics or equivalent experience, with preferred IPC certifications.

Qualifications

• College diploma in electronics or equivalent work experience.
• Certification in IPC-A-610 and IPC-WHMA-620 is preferred.
• Experience with electronic and mechanical assembly and soldering.

Responsibilities

• Assemble electronic units, subassemblies, wiring harnesses and mechanical assemblies following work instructions.
• Repair and overhaul electronic components and assemblies to fix defects.
• Diagnose problems and implement preventative measures to reduce rework.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues for assemblies that fail testing.
• Provide technical support and solutions to problems.

Job description

The Assembly Technician has a multi-functional role that includes assembly and repair of electronic components for the Defense and Aerospace Industry.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Follows Work Instructions and Blueprints to assemble electronic units, subassemblies, wiring harnesses and mechanical assemblies to precise specifications.
• As needed, perform repair and overhaul on Electronic Components, Wiring Harnesses, and Assemblies to correct defects.
• Assist with diagnosingproblems and implement preventative measures to reduce the need for rework.
• Assistwith troubleshooting and resolvingissues for assemblies that fail testing.
• Provides technical support and solutions to problems.
• Performs other duties as required

Job Requirements

• Canadian Citizen
• College Diploma or equivalent work experience in electronics, preferred.
• IPC-A-610, IPC-WHMA-620 and/or JSTD-001 certifications, preferred.
• Electronic and Mechanical Assembly experience, including the use of Hand tools and Soldering Iron, preferred.
• Experience repairing electronic units, preferred.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Excellent mechanical aptitude.
• Keen attention to detail and quality.
• Ability to interpret drawings and Work Instructions, preferred.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to bend, stoop and reach.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds, occasionally.
• WHIMS / GHS training an asset.
