Job summary

PERI Group is seeking an Assembly Hall Technician in Bolton, Ontario to support the assembly of custom formwork systems, including components such as columns, wall forms, panels and shaft platforms. The role involves refurbishing equipment and repairing components with hand and power tools to ensure safe, high-quality output for construction projects.

The position is full-time temporary for a one-month term.

Qualifications

• Experience assembling and refurbishing PERI formwork components.
• Ability to lift and move heavy parts safely.
• Familiarity with reading blueprints.
• Proficient with hand and power tools on a daily basis.
• Capable of standing for long periods and lifting up to 20 kg occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, inspect, and repair PERI formwork components returned from job sites, ensuring quality and safety standards.
• Assemble custom formwork systems according to order specifications.
• Use hand and power tools to remove, repair, and replace components.
• Record time, materials and consumables for each job.
• Collaborate with designers to address discrepancies and ensure accuracy.
• Occasionally operate a crane to lift, move, or position materials.
• Maintain high-quality workmanship with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Participate in group health and safety meetings and comply with policies.

We are seeking a skilled Assembly Hall Technician to support the assembly of custom formwork systems, including columns, wall forms, panels, shaft platforms, and various architectural forms. This role also involves repairing and maintaining components using hand and power tools to ensure the optimal performance and safety of our products and equipment. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, detail-oriented, and experienced in assembling and refurbishing equipment to prepare for upcoming construction projects.This is a full-time temporary position for a one-month term.

What you'll do on a typical day:

• Disassemble, inspect, and repair PERI formwork components returned from job sites, ensuring all items meet quality and safety standards before being redeployed to upcoming projects.
• Assemble custom formwork systems according to order specifications and project requirements.
• Remove, repair, and replace components using a variety of hand and power tools:
  • Hand tools: drills, routers, belt sanders, palm sanders etc.
  • Power hand tools: table saws, reciprocal saws, panel saws, circular saws, jigsaws, wall saws, band saws, etc.
• Record required information and data, including time, materials, and consumables.
• Identify and resolve issues, collaborating with designers to address discrepancies.
• Occasionally operate a crane to lift, move, position or place materials.
• Produce high-quality work with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Actively participate in group health and safety meetings.
• Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.
• Comply with all PERI policies, procedures, and provincial health and safety standards.
• Use protective personal equipment when required.
• Report hazards, unsafe conditions, and accidents promptly.
• Take care of your health and safety and that of the others.
• Other related duties as assigned.

What you'll need to be successful:

• Ability to handle both large and small parts for material preparation and movement.
• Math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and ability to count parts manually.
• Previous experience using a variety of hand and power tools.
• Experience operating a crane is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints is considered an asset.
• Access to reliable transportation as there is no public access to this location.
• Capability to lift up to 10 kilograms/ 22 pounds on a regular basis and up to 20 kilograms/ 45 pounds on an occasional basis.
• Standing and walking up to 8.75 hours per day.
• Must wear the personal protective equipment required in work areas.
• Half-face piece respirator must be worn when working in the warehouse.
