Job summary

PERI is seeking an Assembly Hall Technician to support the assembly and refurbishment of formwork systems in Bolton, Ontario. You will handle components, operate a variety of hand and power tools, and ensure safety and quality on every project.

This hands-on role requires reading blueprints, lifting up to 45 pounds, and occasionally operating a crane. You’ll record materials and time, work with designers on discrepancies, and participate in safety meetings.

Qualifications

  • Experience assembling and refurbishing formwork components.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints is an asset.
  • Ability to lift up to 22 pounds regularly and 45 pounds occasionally.
  • Experience operating a crane preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Disassemble, inspect, and repair formwork components to quality and safety standards.
  • Assemble custom formwork systems per specifications.
  • Operate hand and power tools for removal and installation.
  • Record time, materials, and consumables for projects.
  • Collaborate with designers to resolve discrepancies.
  • Occasionally operate a crane to move materials.
  • Participate in health and safety meetings and maintain attendance.
  • Comply with PERI policies and safety requirements.

Job description

Scope Of Position

We are seeking a skilled Assembly Hall Technician to support the assembly of custom formwork systems, including columns, wall forms, panels, shaft platforms, and various architectural forms. This role also involves repairing and maintaining components using hand and power tools to ensure the optimal performance and safety of our products and equipment. The ideal candidate will be hands‑on, detail‑oriented, and experienced in assembling and refurbishing equipment to prepare for upcoming construction projects.

What You’ll Do On a Typical Day
  • Disassemble, inspect, and repair PERI formwork components returned from job sites, ensuring all items meet quality and safety standards before being redeployed to upcoming projects.
  • Assemble custom formwork systems according to order specifications and project requirements.
  • Remove, repair, and replace components using a variety of hand and power tools:
    • Hand tools: drills, routers, belt sanders, palm sanders etc.
    • Power hand tools: table saws, reciprocal saws, panel saws, circular saws, jigsaws, wall saws, band saws, etc.
  • Record required information and data, including time, materials, and consumables.
  • Identify and resolve issues, collaborating with designers to address discrepancies.
  • Occasionally operate a crane to lift, move, position or place materials.
  • Produce high-quality work with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Actively participate in group health and safety meetings.
  • Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.
  • Comply with all PERI policies, procedures, and provincial health and safety standards.
  • Respect working procedure.
  • Use protective personal equipment when required.
  • Report hazards, unsafe conditions, and accidents promptly.
  • Take care of your health and safety and that of the others.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
What You’ll Need To Be Successful
  • Ability to handle both large and small parts for material preparation and movement.
  • Math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and ability to count parts manually.
  • Previous experience using a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Experience operating a crane is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints is considered an asset.
  • Access to reliable transportation as there is no public access to this location.
  • Capability to lift up to 10 kilograms/ 22 pounds on a regular basis and up to 20 kilograms/ 45 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Standing and walking up to 8.75 hours per day.
  • Must wear the personal protective equipment required in work areas.
  • Half-face piece respirator must be worn when working in the warehouse.
