Job summary

SERVPRO of Prince Edward Island is seeking experienced asbestos abatement workers to remove, encapsulate and enclose asbestos-containing materials at client sites across Prince Edward Island. Work includes setting up containment, scaffolding and barricades, and coordinated debris cleanup, with a focus on safety and compliance.

Requirements include a high school diploma, 1–2 years of asbestos experience, asbestos abatement training, PPE and WHMIS certifications, plus first aid and fall protection

Qualifications

• Secondary (high) school diploma is required.
• Asbestos abatement training completed.
• WHMIS certificate required; PPE training beneficial.
• First aid certificate preferred; Fall arrest training required.
• English language proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Remove, encapsulate and enclose asbestos-containing materials and other hazardous materials (lead, mould, insulation).
• Handle, store and dispose of hazardous materials safely.
• Set up and take down containment, scaffolding and barricades.
• Assist with selective demolition as needed.
• Remove debris and clean up contaminants at job sites.
• Load, unload and transport materials and equipment.

SERVPRO of Prince Edward Island is hiring 2 Asbestos Abatement Workers (Asbestos Removers)

Business address and work location: 60 St Peters Road, Charlottetown, PE C1A 5N5. Work is performed at client job sites across Prince Edward Island.

Terms of Employment

• Permanent, full-time position
• Wage: $31.20 per hour
• 30 hours per week, day shift; overtime as required
• Benefits: health and dental
• Start date: as soon as possible

Duties

• Remove, encapsulate and enclose asbestos-containing materials and other hazardous materials (lead, mould, insulation) from buildings
• Handle, store and dispose of hazardous materials safely
• Set up and take down containment, scaffolding and barricades
• Assist with selective demolition
• Remove debris and clean up contaminants at job sites
• Load, unload and transport materials and equipment

Requirements

• Secondary (high) school diploma
• 1 year to less than 2 years of asbestos abatement experience
• Asbestos abatement training
• Personal protective equipment (PPE) training
