Job summary

Pinchin Canada in Mississauga, ON, is seeking a Laboratory Analyst to join the Asbestos Lab team. Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, this backfill position supports accurate microscopy analysis of building materials, data entry, and report preparation.

The role rewards precision and reliability, with a focus on Polarized Light Microscopy, quality control, and collaboration across the lab. A diploma or degree in a related discipline and strong lab skills are required; knowledge of MS Office is

Qualifications

Diploma or university degree in a related discipline.
Strong background in laboratory procedures and/or microscopy.
Ability to differentiate the full spectrum of visible colour.
Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) will be considered an asset.
Knowledge of Polarized Light Microscopy and Optical Mineralogy will be considered as asset.

Responsibilities

Analyze building materials and insulation samples for asbestos content by Polarized Light Microscopy.
Enter data and prepare reports.
Quality control of samples from both internal and external sources.
