Job summary

Annapolis Valley Regional Centre for Education is seeking an AVRCE Spare Cafeteria Worker to perform a variety of cafeteria duties in Annapolis County, Kings County and Hants County. Hours are on an as-needed basis with pay rate per CUPE Collective Agreement at $20.60 per hour.

The successful candidate will cook, bake and prepare food, sell canteen items at recess and noon, and assist with inventory and cashier duties, while upholding a safe and clean working environment.

Qualifications

• Must be physically able to perform duties.
• Experience in food preparation and menu planning preferred.
• Must be organized with clean work habits.
• Able to work in a fast-paced atmosphere.
• Safe Food Handling course is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Cooking, baking and preparation of food.
• Selling canteen items at recess and noon.
• Support school recycling program, keep daily accounts and inventory, and cashier as required.
