Job summary

Annapolis Valley Regional Centre for Education is seeking a cafeteria worker to assist with food preparation, cashier duties, and daily operations in the school canteen. You will contribute to cooking, baking and maintaining inventory, while promoting recycling initiatives and supporting the cafeteria team.

The role may involve substituting for the Head Cafeteria Worker, managing stock, and helping ensure a safe, clean dining environment for students.

Qualifications

• Experience in food and menu preparation.
• Organized, neat and with clean work habits.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of NS Public Schools nutrition policy.
• Enjoy working with students.
• Valid Nova Scotia Operator's License.
• Current Food Handling Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Cashier duties as required.
• Cooking, baking, and preparation of food.
• Keep daily accounts and inventory control.
• Sell canteen items at recess and noon.
• Kitchen duties in coordination with the cafeteria team.
• Support the school recycling program.
• Substitute for Head Cafeteria Worker as required.
