Job summary

A leading cultural organization is seeking a dedicated administrative assistant for a summer position, responsible for providing essential support and fostering a positive guest-first culture. The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service skills, a collaborative approach, and a passion for cultural events, while handling various tasks from processing sales to coordinating events.

Qualifications

  • At least one year of customer service sales experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Must have a valid Class 5 driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative help and support to the Badlands Amphitheatre.
  • Coordinate and implement company projects, events, and gatherings.
  • Process donations, event sales, and site bookings.

Job description

35 hours/week for up to 16 weeks Flexible start date on or after May 15, 2024

Tasks & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide administrative help and support to the Badlands Amphitheatre
  • Operations Manager Support senior staff in establishing and promoting a positive, team-based, and ‘guest-first’ culture
  • Process donations, event sales, and site bookings by phone and in person
  • General office duties including data entry, mail processing, administrative errands, phone and email communications, etc.
  • Aid in the coordination and implementation of company projects, events, or other gatherings
  • Must be able to work some evenings and event weekends

Ideal Candidate:

  • The ideal candidate is friendly,enthusiastic and engaging
  • Able to respond professionally in unusual or unexpected situations
  • Has at least one year of customer service sales experience with a combination of phone and walk-up sales preferred
  • Is enthusiastically dedication to excellent customer service
  • Has superior interpersonal skills and basic computer skills (e.g. email, Internet research, Microsoft Office), strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize
  • A passion for cultural events
  • A collaborative spirit and flexibility and openness to take on new projects and tasks to work in a fast-changingteam-based environment.
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Sound judgement with the ability to be resourceful and proactive in dealing with issues that may arise
  • Ability to prioritize and handle a complex and varied workload
  • Discretion in handling sensitive information
  • A valid Class 5 driver’s license is preferred.

Skills Developed:

Career-related experience in customer service,arts/culture/tourism sector administration, customer service, verbal and written communication, experience with ticketing system software, project management software, Google suite, ability to investigate and analyze information and draw conclusions, planning and scheduling techniques, teamwork,task coordination, developing initiative, taking responsibility for task completion.

Note: This is a CSJ (Canada Summer Jobs) funded position and is available only for a youth who is a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; has a valid SIN(Social Insurance Number) at the start of employment; and who is between 15-30 at the start of the program.
