Job summary

Kidco Construction Ltd is hiring a Rock Truck Operator to join our earthworks team on residential construction projects in Calgary and surrounding areas. You will operate articulated rock trucks, haul materials, and coordinate with excavators and other heavy equipment to keep projects on schedule.

The role requires previous construction experience, a valid Class 5 license, and the ability to work on active sites.

Qualifications

• Minimum construction experience with earthworks or heavy equipment preferred.
• Experience operating a rock truck or similar heavy equipment is an asset.
• Ability to perform pre-trip inspections and identify basic deficiencies.
• Strong communication with supervisors and other operators on site.

Job description

Kidco Construction is currently hiring a Rock Truck Operator to join our earthworks team on residential construction projects in Calgary and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

• Operate articulated rock trucks on residential earthworks and excavation sites
• Haul soil, clay, gravel, and other materials between excavation, fill, stockpile, and disposal areas
• Work alongside excavators, dozers, graders, compactors, and other heavy equipment during excavation and grading operations
• Position the rock truck safely for loading by excavators and other loading equipment
• Dump material in designated fill, stockpile, or disposal areas as directed
• Follow designated haul routes and maintain safe speeds based on site and ground conditions
• Maintain awareness of workers, equipment, utilities, slopes, excavations, and changing site conditions
• Communicate with supervisors and equipment operators to coordinate truck movements and material placement
• Perform pre-trip and routine equipment inspections to ensure the truck is in safe working condition
• Identify and report equipment defects, damage, or maintenance concerns
• Maintain a clean cab and properly care for assigned equipment
• Follow site-specific traffic plans, safety procedures, and supervisor direction

Qualifications

• Previous construction experience required; earthworks or heavy equipment experience is preferred
• Previous experience operating a rock truck or other heavy equipment is considered an asset
• Ability to safely operate equipment in active construction sites and around other heavy equipment
• Ability to perform pre-trip inspections and identify basic equipment deficiencies
• Ability to follow directions and communicate effectively with supervisors and other operators
• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and access to a personal vehicle

Schedule

• Monday to Friday: 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM
• Saturday: 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Compensation and Benefits:
