Job summary

Syncrude MLX & Saline Creek is seeking experienced Rock Truck Operators to join our field operations at Mildred Lake and Saline Creek projects, Fort McMurray, AB. You will drive 40–45 tonne articulated rock trucks, perform pre‑op inspections, and follow safety procedures on a busy mining site.

Local candidates only; this is non-camp work with bussing from Fort McMurray. 12-hour shifts apply, 14 days on/off, with overtime and comprehensive benefits after 90 days.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience operating rock trucks in mining, construction, or oil sands environments.
• Experience with wiggle wagons or large haul trucks (CAT 777/785/789, Komatsu 830E/930E) is an asset.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test (Syncrude only).
• Strong understanding of mine-site traffic rules and safe operating practices.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate 40–45 ton articulated rock trucks in active mining or civil sites.
• Haul overburden, ore, aggregate and other materials per dispatch.
• Conduct pre-operational inspections and complete inspection documentation.
• Maintain awareness of site hazards and follow safety procedures.
