Huawei Canada has an immediate 8-month Internship opening for an Articling Student.

About the team:

From Procurement to Finance to IT services and more, the Quality & Operation Department provides critical support for all of Huawei Canada. This department prides itself on its ability to solve complex problems, often under tight deadlines, while providing world-class service. The department’s name reflects its commitment to quality and operational excellence.

About the job:

  • Assist your Articling Principal with in-house legal work, including corporate and commercial law, contract law, employment law, dispute resolution, IPR, etc.
  • Conduct legal research and initial analysis of cases and legislation; proofread, format, and prepare final versions of legal documents for execution.
  • Draft legal documents and contracts; perform preliminary legal reviews of documents and contracts.
  • Assist in legislative updates and implementation; help build and manage a library of templates and standards.
  • Navigate internal processes for legal reviews and coordinate with other departments and teams.
  • Support in-house counsels by preparing forms, minutes, meeting materials, and handling general office duties.
  • Engage and correspond with outside counsels and vendors; support legal procurement processes and manage external legal resources.

About the ideal candidate:

  • Professional graduate degree in Law (J.D., or L.L.B.)
  • Registration in the Law Society of Ontario Lawyer Licensing Process.
  • Ability to adapt to various tasks and manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills and professional disposition.
  • Proactive, self-starter, with a desire to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
