Job Description:

Our marketing team is dedicated to producing high-quality creative work that enhances our brand presence and drives engagement. We are seeking a highly skilled Art Director to elevate our creative execution, manage and streamline workflows, and maintain high design standards across all marketing channels. This role requires both hands-on design work and strategic oversight, balancing creativity with business objectives.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned designer with 8+ years of experience, a strong portfolio, and a strategic mindset. They should be comfortable managing competing priorities, mentoring junior/intermediate designers, and collaborating across teams to execute high-impact creative projects.

Primary Responsibilities

Brand & Visual Design

  • Maintain and evolve LifeSpeak Inc.’s brand identity while ensuring consistency across all marketing materials.
  • Develop and refine creative guidelines to support brand cohesion.

Graphic Design & Content Production

  • Design high-quality marketing assets, such as flyers, presentations, email banners, signage, and digital ads.
  • Create visually compelling social media graphics and campaigns optimized for various platforms.
  • Select and curate stock images, illustrations, and creative assets to enhance visual storytelling.
  • Bonus: Experience with UX design, video editing or motion graphics is a plus but not required.

Project & Workflow Management

  • Manage and prioritize design requests using Jira (or other project management tools) to ensure timely delivery.
  • Navigate shifting deadlines and competing priorities, proactively keeping high-impact projects on track.
  • Collaborate closely with the Director of Marketing and Communications, and the broader marketing team to align on priorities and expectations.
  • Oversee and mentor one graphic designer, providing guidance on design execution and workload management.
  • Uphold high creative standards and ensure all work aligns with strategic business objectives.

Process Optimization & Decision-Making

  • Implement best practices for design workflow efficiency, ensuring smooth execution of high-volume requests.
  • Recognize when feedback, prioritization conflicts, or roadblocks require leadership input and escalate as needed.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends, design innovations, and emerging creative strategies.

Required Qualifications and Skillset:

  • 8+ years of professional design experience with a strong portfolio showcasing high-quality work.
  • 2+ years of leadership experience preferred, including mentoring or managing other designers.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and execute projects with minimal oversight.
  • Experience handling high-volume design requests in an in-house or agency setting.
  • Strong understanding of brand identity, typography, color theory, and layout design.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Figma, and other design tools.
  • Ability to balance creativity with business goals, ensuring that design work supports strategic objectives.
  • Strong communication skills—comfortable collaborating across teams, handling feedback, and escalating issues when needed.
  • Experience working remotely and staying proactive, organized, and communicative.
  • Bonus: While not required, experience in video editing or motion graphics (After Effects, Premiere Pro), as well as familiarity with Jira, SharePoint, and WordPress, would be considered a valuable asset for future projects.
