Job summary

Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services (CFMWS) invites applications for an Arena Operator/Outdoor Facility Maintainer at Kingston, ON. You will maintain the ice rink and outdoor facilities, greet visitors and manage access, while ensuring safety and compliance with rules.

This unionized role supports military members and families in a community setting. The position requires a college diploma in related fields, CPR/First Aid, a valid Ontario driver’s license, and ICE certification.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE

As an Arena Operator/Outdoor Facility Maintainer with Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services, you will be part of a team proud to provide safe, quality arena and outdoor sports facilities to members of the Canadian Armed Forces community. You will take satisfaction seeing them at play and enjoying the facilities and get to experience the thrill of the cheering fans as you drive the Zamboni down the ice surface.

Daily, you will ensure the ice rink is maintained, dressing rooms are ready and equipment is organized and in proper working order. You will ensure outdoor facilities and sports fields are maintained and safe to use such as soccer fields, ball diamond, volleyball court, splash park, playground, etc. You will greet visitors, manage access to the facility and fields and answer customer inquiries. You will patrol the facility to ensure rules and regulations are being followed and equipment and facilities are safe for all those that visit.

Qualifications Needed

Education, Certifications and Licences

• College diploma or certificate in Facility Management, Resource Management, or a related field and some years of experience in a related field
• Current CPR and Standard First Aid certification
• Valid Driver's Licence (ON)
• Recreation Facilities Association Certified Ice Technician (ON)

Experience

• In operating and maintaining ice rink and outdoor sports facilities equipment

• This is an on-site position with an assigned work location.
• The anticipated term of this position is November 2026 - April 2027
• This Category I unionized position is open to all interested parties. Preference will be granted in accordance with the Collective Agreement for the PSAC bargaining unit for NPF Category I employees at CFB Kingston.
