Job Description
- Principles of Operation: Develops relationships with Area partners to create and deliver products and solutions designed to fulfill Area objectives. This level is normally for Areas that are considered medium in size and have maturing and less complex publishing and translation needs.
- Purpose: To ensure that Area publishing needs are met and support the sharing of the gospel of Jesus Christ and assist Church members and local leaders.
- Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary contact to ensure Area's essential publishing needs are met in a simple and affordable way.
- Lead resources to provide publishing solutions that deliver value to the Areas.
- Serve as the creative/publishing advisor, utilizing best practices to help the Area achieve desired results, and oversee the Content Publishing Process within the Area.
- Manage the Area translation resources.
- May manage independent contractors, vendors, and volunteers in product deliverables.
- May manage relationships with contractors and vendors, including quality measurement, sourcing, negotiation, and contract termination.
- Collaborate with initiating departments to understand and implement product strategies aligned with Area plans.
- Responsible for annual planning of Publishing products, including budget forecasting, resource planning, and timelines.
- Serve as liaison between Area and Publishing Services HQ resources.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced technical or business degree preferred.
- Minimum 6 years (prefer 8+ years) managing in a publishing production environment or related field.
- Relevant degrees, certifications, and licenses.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven negotiation skills at all organizational levels.
- Ability to execute business planning, strategy, and reasoning.
- Proven problem-solving skills for complex business and process issues.
- Experience leading diverse business functions and managing relationships.
- French language capability is a plus.
Additional Employment Criteria:
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without sponsorship.
- Must reside in Calgary, Alberta, while employed.
