Job summary

Amazon Canada Fulfillment Services, ULC in Mississauga, ON is seeking an Area Manager II for the YYZ1 fulfillment centre to lead up to 80 hourly associates and drive safety, quality, and on-time delivery. You will engage the team during shifts, mentor staff, and coordinate with Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, Quality Assurance, and HR.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Support, mentor, and motivate your hourly workforce
• Manage safety, quality, productivity, and customer delivery promises
• Collaborate with Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, Quality Assurance, and Human Resources to develop plans to meet business objectives
• Conduct planning sessions and coach team through operational challenges while developing leadership capabilities
• Diagnose root causes of performance gaps using advanced analytics
• Facilitate alignment meetings with senior leadership on department-level goals
• Drive process improvements impacting 200+ associates across multiple workflows
• Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach
• Stand/walk for up to 12 hours during shifts
• Work in an environment where the noise level varies and can be loud
• Work in an environment subject to variable temperatures and weather

Job description

Amazon's WW Operations network delivers millions of packages to customers every day. We are looking for motivated, customer-focused individuals to join our team as an Area Manager II at our YYZ1 fulfillment centre in Mississauga, Ontario.

As an Area Manager II, you will lead a team of up to 80 hourly associates and be responsible for engaging your team during shifts to maintain the highest levels of safety, quality, attendance, and performance. You will also play a key role in maintaining customer expectations to ensure orders are delivered at the right time, to the right location.

Key Responsibilities

Basic Qualifications

• 2+ years of employee and performance management experience
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and/or holidays

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience
• Experience in the management of large teams (50+ members)
• Experience with process improvements (Lean Six Sigma and/or Kaizen)
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics, or a related field
• Experience in shipping/logistics, distribution centres, manufacturing, hospitality, healthcare, retail, or customer-service environments

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary range: $75,000 – $105,000 CAD annually. Total compensation may include sign-on payments and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). Benefits include comprehensive health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, basic life and AD&D), RRSP, DPSP, paid time off, and health and well-being resources.
