Job summary

Amazon is seeking an Area Manager II at our Nisku, AB fulfillment center to lead a team of up to 80 hourly associates and drive safety, quality, attendance, and performance. You will partner with Quality, HR and Safety to implement scalable process improvements that impact 200+ associates across multiple workflows and ensure on-time customer delivery.

This role emphasizes data-driven decision making, coaching, and cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of employee and performance management experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience
• Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays

Amazon's WW Operations network delivers millions of packages and smiles to Amazon customers every day. We are looking for motivated, customer-focused individuals who want to join our team as an Area Manager II in Nisku, AB.

In this role, you will lead a team of hourly workforce and will be responsible for engaging your team during their shifts to maintain the highest levels of safety, quality, attendance, and performance. You will also play a key role in maintaining our customer expectations to ensure customer orders are delivered at the right time, to the right location.

A Day in the Life

As an Area Manager II at an Amazon fulfillment center, you'll act as a strategic leader overseeing up to 80 associates while driving department level operational improvements. You'll conduct planning sessions with your team, coaching them through operational challenges while developing their leadership capabilities. On a typical day, you'll partner cross-functionally with teams such as Quality, HR, and Safety to implement scalable process improvements that could impact 200+ associates across multiple workflows.

Basic Qualifications

• 2+ years of employee and performance management experience
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience
• Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience
• Experience in the management of large teams (50+ members)
• Experience with process improvements (Lean Six Sigma and/or Kaizen)
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics, or a related field
• Experience in shipping/logistics distribution centers, manufacturing, hospitality, healthcare, retail, or customer-service environments

Benefits

Amazon offers a base salary of $75,000-$105,000 CAD annually. The package may also include sign-on payments and RSUs. Benefits include health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, basic life and AD&D), RRSP, DPSP, paid time off, and additional well-being resources.
