Job summary

Dexterra Group in Vancouver is seeking an Area Manager to lead the TransLink account across multiple sites, owning client relationships, financial performance, contract delivery and site leadership.

This highly visible role requires balancing strategic account management with hands-on operations, collaborating with site managers, supervisors, teams and Dexterra stakeholders to ensure service excellence, safety and growth across the account.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Facilities Management, Operations Management, or related field is considered an asset.
  • Minimum 5 years of management experience directing teams within facilities management, janitorial services, building services, operations, or related service environment.
  • Proven experience managing multi-site operations, ideally within large, complex, unionized, public sector, municipal or transit environments.
  • Experience managing janitorial or facilities services with exposure to transit, municipal or government settings is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience managing client relationships and operational service contracts.
  • Experience with financial management, budgeting, forecasting, P&L accountability, and cost control.
  • Proven experience recruiting, training, developing, retaining, and managing performance of employees and leadership teams.
  • Experience managing labour relations, including unionized environments.
  • Ability to lead managers, supervisors, team leads, and frontline employees across multiple locations.
  • Strong understanding of operational standards, quality assurance, health and safety requirements, and service delivery practices.
  • Strong business acumen to translate operational/financial data into improvements.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel regularly between multiple sites and attend client meetings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and other business software applications.

Job Description
WHAT’S THE JOB?

As a Area Manager, you will be the senior operational and strategic leader responsible for the overall performance of a major TransLink account spanning multiple physical locations. You will own the client relationship, financial performance, contract delivery, operational excellence, and long‑term growth of the account while providing direct leadership and oversight to the site management team.

This role requires a highly visible and engaged leader who can balance strategic account management with hands‑on operational leadership across multiple sites. You will work closely with site managers, supervisors, team leads, frontline employees, and internal Dexterra stakeholders to ensure consistent service delivery, financial performance, employee engagement, and client satisfaction across the account.

You will serve as the primary senior point of contact for the client, while maintaining oversight of the physical locations, operational standards, workforce performance, and leadership teams responsible for day‑to‑day service delivery.

Your Work Will Include
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and on‑site presence.
  • Embed client retention practices using the Tenacity Client for Life approach.
  • Align key stakeholders through a structured Web of Influence to drive collaboration.
  • Act as a strategic advisor, delivering value‑added solutions and anticipating client needs.
