Job summary

Cobalt Construction in Whitehorse, Yukon is seeking an experienced Mechanical Shop Supervisor / Fleet Manager to lead our mechanical shop, oversee fleet maintenance, and provide hands-on support. This leadership role balances planning, diagnostics, and mentoring within a fast-paced northern construction environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in heavy equipment maintenance with supervisory responsibility.
• Red Seal Certification preferred or equivalent experience.
• Experience in cold weather/arctic operations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of mechanics and apprentices.
• Oversee fleet maintenance and service scheduling.
• Provide accurate cost and time estimates for repairs.
• Coordinate with project teams to keep equipment operational.
• Maintain service records and fleet tracking systems.
