Your new company
The firm is a mid-sized Architectural practice located in Downtown Vancouver. For over 30 years, they have received international recognition for successful projects throughout the Pacific Northwest. The majority of their projects are located in Western Canada with additional design work in Japan, Korea and Thailand. They are centered around innovative housing, urban development and sustainable initiatives. They specialize in master planning, feasibility and land use studies, multi-family high rise and low-rise residential, mixed-use commercial-residential, heritage rehabilitation, adaptive re-use and warehouse conversations, and senior’s residential and care facilities.
Your new role
In this role, you will be supporting senior staff with project delivery. You will be working at all phases of the projects, from interacting with clients to design development to permitting and field reviews. You will be supporting architectural and integrated projects through developing design concepts, presentation material, and contract documentation. You will create a variety of material including sketches, renderings, models, presentation boards, material boards, graphics, details, sections, elevations, and schedules. You will also assist in the preparation of development permit, rezoning submission, building permit and construction drawing packages. You will be participating in client presentations and consultant meetings, while coordinating consultant design and shop drawings.
What you’ll need to succeed
The successful candidate will have at least 5 years of local experience. You will have profound knowledge of DP and BP submissions and experience in conducting site reviews and providing reports. You will have an understanding of sustainable design, LEED, BC Energy Step code, ASHRAE 90.1, NECB and other such programs, codes and standards. You will have a high level of proficiency with AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit/BIM, Photoshop/InDesign. Understanding of Wood Frame and Concrete construction an asset.
