Job summary

Stantec in Calgary is seeking an Architectural Technologist to contribute to a professional Architecture team, assisting with planning, space programming and the development of construction documents including elevations, sections and architectural details.

You will utilize BIM to create three-dimensional models, coordinate building systems, research materials, and mentor junior staff as part of delivering fiscally responsible, award-winning designs.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for projects of medium complexity/size.
• Ensures that design intent is maintained through documentation and construction.
• Coordinates building systems to ensure compatibility with the design intent.
• Conducts interpretations of sketches, drawings, codes, building program, building envelope, and other similar material.
• Supports project team in development of design and construction documentation.
• Assists in the development of a design through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, massing studies, and other visual formats.
• Utilizes BIM technologies in development of three dimensional models of buildings and their components.
• Assist in research of materials and building systems.
• Mentors junior staff.

Your role as an Architectural Technologist on our professional Architecture team is to be a valuable contributor to a team environment, and to assist clients through the planning and creation of fiscally responsible, award-winning designs. You will be assisting with designing schematics specialized in space programming and site planning as well as developing construction documents including elevations, sections, and architectural details for projects. You will be assisting with innovative and creative new prototypes, designed with sustainable products with green architecture sensibility as your goals.
