Highspring is a forward-thinking consulting and professional services firm seeking a Digital Solution Designer to join a large-scale digital delivery organization in Canada. You will design backend, web, and mobile solutions aligned with business and non-functional requirements, collaborating with engineers, SREs, architects, product teams, and stakeholders to modernize and accelerate delivery.
You will produce architectural documentation, drive adoption of best practices, and mentor engineers
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field required
- 7+ years of web/mobile software development experience
- Experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale distributed applications
- Strong understanding of Agile software delivery methodologies
Responsibilities
- Design backend, web, and mobile solutions aligned with business needs and non-functional requirements
- Ensure interoperability across distributed systems using microservices, REST, and GraphQL APIs
- Create architectural documentation including C4 diagrams and ADRs
- Promote engineering best practices: TDD, CI/CD, and automated testing
- Mentor engineers and contribute to technical communities of practice
- Drive architectural decisions and knowledge sharing across teams
- Explore emerging technologies including generative AI and cloud services

Highspring is seeking a Digital Solution Designer to join a large-scale digital delivery organization focused on building and evolving customer-facing digital experiences.
In this role, you will combine technical expertise, influence-based leadership, operational discipline, and innovation to design and deliver scalable, secure, and resilient solutions. You will collaborate closely with software engineers, SREs, architects, product teams, and business stakeholders to drive modernization initiatives, improve development practices, and accelerate delivery excellence.
- Design backend, web, and mobile application solutions aligned with business requirements and non-functional requirements, including security, scalability, performance, and resilience.
- Ensure interoperability across distributed systems leveraging microservices, REST and GraphQL APIs, and event-driven architectures.
- Produce and maintain architectural documentation, including C4 diagrams and Architecture Decision Records (ADRs).
- Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture standards and technology guidelines.
- Contribute directly to software development activities and promote engineering best practices including TDD, CI/CD, automated testing, and secure coding.
- Support delivery teams through architecture reviews, design reviews, and code review guidance.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, estimation activities, demonstrations, and technical communities of practice.
- Drive root cause analysis of production incidents and support implementation of sustainable corrective actions.
- Challenge existing approaches and propose innovative solutions that improve delivery efficiency and technical excellence.
- Explore and leverage emerging technologies, including generative AI tools and modern cloud services.
- Develop internal tools and accelerators that improve team productivity and delivery reliability.
- Promote observability, monitoring, and operational excellence practices.
- Influence technical decisions across teams through strong communication and expertise.
- Present and advocate architectural recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Mentor engineers and contribute actively to technical communities of practice.
- Foster knowledge sharing and continuous learning across delivery teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in web and mobile software development.
- Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale distributed applications.
- Strong understanding of Agile software delivery methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to influence technical direction without direct authority.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
