Job summary

Softchoice, a World Wide Technology company, is seeking an Architect (GCP) to shape cloud strategies with the presales team and lead implementation projects alongside DevOps and PMs. You will translate business needs into secure, scalable Google Cloud solutions and mentor junior engineers.

You’ll collaborate with sales and clients to design architectures, deliver proposals, and ensure on-time delivery within budget while maintaining standards and continuous learning across the Google Cloud

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of experience with Google Cloud solutions (GCP) and services.
• Proven track record in tech consulting or software development.
• Strong knowledge of cloud services, microservices (Kubernetes), and enterprise integration on GCP.
• Design, implement and manage cloud infrastructure and services.
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in a relevant field (or equivalent industry experience).
• Advanced IaC proficiency, with Terraform or Deployment Manager.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with sales teams and clients to design comprehensive technology solutions.
• Provide technical expertise during the sales process with demos and proposals.
• Lead design and implementation of solutions, ensuring on-time, on-scope, on-budget delivery.
• Provide overviews of architectures, integrations, and project updates to stakeholders.
• Ensure cloud solutions meet security standards and compliance practices.
• Communicate proactively with project managers, teams, and customers.
• Create and update project documentation as required.
• Mentor junior engineers.
• Develop new Google Cloud solutions and learn new skills with the team.

The impact you will have:

As an Architect you will leverage your Google Cloud expertise and work with our presales teams to meet with customers and create comprehensive cloud strategies that align with the organization’s business objectives. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to lead implementation Projects as part of a team that includes DevOps Engineers and Project Management. You will have access to training and early access to cutting‑edge technologies, allowing you to stay at the forefront of technology and learn from your peers.

What you'll do:

• Collaborate with sales teams and clients to understand business requirements and design comprehensive technology solutions.

• Provide technical expertise and support during the sales process, including presentations, demonstrations, and proposal development.

• Assume technical leader role during design and implementation of technology solutions, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.

• Provide overviews of complex solutions, architectures, integrations and project updates to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

• Ensure cloud solutions adhere to security standards and compliance best practices

• Communicating proactively with project managers, project teams, and customers.

• Creating and updating project documentation as required by project leads.

• Mentoring junior engineers

• Engaging in internal initiatives to build the Google Cloud practice by developing new solutions, learning new skills, and collaborating with the team.

What you'll bring to the table:

• 8 - 10 years of work experience leveraging Google Cloud solutions and services

• Proven track record of successful project contributions in Tech Consulting or Software Development

• In‑depth knowledge of cloud services, microservices (Kubernetes) and enterprise integration, specifically related to GCP

• Design, implement and manage cloud infrastructure and services

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in a relevant field or equivalent industry experience

• Advanced Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC):

• Expertise in at least one of Terraform or Deployment Manager.

• Advanced Proficiency in Scripting or Programming Languages:

• Expertise in at least one scripting or programming language such as Python, JavaScript, Bash, or Java.

• In‑depth knowledge of IT principles in at least one of: Networking, Security, Hardware or Software

• Expert level understanding of DevOps Culture, Methodologies and Tooling:

• At least 5 years of experience using and managing tools such as Ansible, Git, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Prometheus and Docker.

Compensation:

A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position in Canada is $120,800 to $151,000 annually + 14% as target incentives.

Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including location, experience, skill set, education, and related certification. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ.
