Job summary

WSP in Canada seeks an Archaeology Lead to guide Ontario's archaeology and cultural heritage management. You will lead a high-performing team, influence project delivery at a strategic level, and contribute to the growth of WSP’s Archaeology practice.

Working with senior leaders, you’ll foster collaboration, technical excellence, and strong client relationships while delivering high-quality archaeological services across Ontario.

Qualifications

• Experience leading archaeology teams, programs, or complex projects in consulting, government, or related environments.
• Strong knowledge of archaeological field methods, reporting standards, and cultural resource management practices.
• Proven ability to manage client relationships, prepare proposals, and contribute to business development.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills with demonstrated ability to build relationships.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of archaeology professionals, fostering collaboration, engagement, and technical excellence.
• Drive the growth and development of the Archaeology Team in partnership with senior leaders and technical experts.
• Build and strengthen client relationships while supporting business development and proposal preparation.
• Oversee delivery of high-quality archaeological projects, ensuring rigorous field methodology and reporting.
• Coordinate team workloads and resources to support efficient project execution.
• Champion recruitment, succession planning, mentoring, and performance development across the team.
• Promote a strong health & safety culture and ensure safety remains a priority in project delivery.
• Support business objectives, KPIs, budgeting and planning for Earth & Environment initiatives.
