Job summary

Ridgeline Archaeology and Cultural Heritage Management, proudly part of the CCI Group of Companies, seeks Coastal Permit Holders and Field Directors to join the team. Location: Anywhere in British Columbia or Alberta (Flexible locations).

50% Field, 50% desktop, with travel to sites across BC, Alberta, and the Yukon. Direct teams of up to 10 archaeologists on AIAs and PFRs, manage client portfolios, ensure regulatory compliance, and integrate field data into written reports.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Archaeology or Anthropology or a related field is required.
  • 3+ years of experience supervising or Field Directing field projects.
  • Permit Holder or Field Director status within a BC culture area is required.
  • Experience writing and editing technical reports is essential.
  • Solid understanding of the BC Heritage Conservation Act and related jurisdictions (Alberta and Yukon an asset).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; positive team attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Direct teams of up to 10 archaeologists on AIAs and PFRs for client projects.
  • Project manage client portfolio, deliverables, budgeting, and collaborate with other PMs.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and high-quality assessment reports.
  • Incorporate field data and sources into written reports and background assessments.
  • Track budgets and milestones; keep clients updated on progress.
  • Liaise with First Nations and communities on a project basis.
  • Foster positive work environment and promote company values; mentor staff.

Position Summary

With a growing demand for our services, we are seeking Coastal Permit Holders to join our team to manage innovative community-guided cultural heritage management practices of Ridgeline. Supervisors with the requirements for Field Director status are also encouraged to apply. With CCI offices conveniently located in Prince George, Fort St John, Calgary, Edmonton, and Salmon Arm, we are quick to deploy our crews to sites throughout British Columbia, Alberta and the Yukon.

Key Responsibilities


  • Direct teams consisting of up to 10 archaeologists on archaeological impact assessments (AIAs and PFRs) for your client projects

  • Project manage your client portfolio, deliverables, budgeting, and collaborate with other project managers

  • Ensure regulatory compliance and quality standards when surveying, supervising, and producing high quality assessment reports.

  • Skillfully incorporate data from the field, RAAD, PARL, and other historic or ethnographic sources into written reports and background assessments.

  • Track project budgets and milestones and keep clients up to date on progress.

  • Liaise and consult with First Nations and communities on a project basis.

  • Foster a positive work environment and collaboration between field crews and community partners. Mentor staff and promote healthy leadership and promote company values.


Qualifications


  • Degree in Archaeology or Anthropology or a related field of study.

  • 3+ years of experience in supervising or Field Directing field projects.

  • Permit Holder or Field Director status within a culture area in BC.

  • Demonstrated experience writing and editing technical reports.

  • Solid understanding and working knowledge of the BC Heritage Conservation Act and other jurisdictions (Alberta and Yukon are also an asset).

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. A Positive team attitude.

  • Effective time management and setting priorities to meet project deadlines.

  • Demonstrated ability to build respectful relationships with First Nations communities.

  • Proficiency in MS Office, mapping and digital data use (GIS is an asset).

  • Valid First Aid, WHMIS and H2S certification.

  • Valid BC driver’s license.

  • Willingness for some travel and spend time away from home throughout BC, Alberta, and the Yukon.
