Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Technical Writer, Archaeology to join our growing archaeology team across British Columbia. The successful candidate will support diverse projects, prepare regulatory deliverables, and help manage field data while upholding safety and quality standards.

A Bachelor's degree in Anthropology or Archaeology is required, with at least one year of archaeological experience. This temporary full-time role offers opportunities to transition to permanent status and to work from our BC

Your Opportunity

We are seeking a Technical Writer, Archaeology to join our growing archaeology team. This role will support a diverse range of projects across multiple service lines throughout British Columbia, with the potential to transition to a permanent, full-time position in the future. The successful candidate can be based at any of our Stantec office locations across British Columbia.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing regulatory deliverables including site forms, interim and final reporting
  • Managing digitally and manually collected field data
  • Actively participating in Stantec’s HSSE programs

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Self-motivated, has excellent technical writing skills
  • Experience in Cultural Resource Management, specifically reporting, an asset
  • Dedicated to following and promoting a strong safety culture
  • Desire to work closely with other environmental professionals and First Nations
  • Ability to solve complex problems using sound professional judgment, creativity, and innovation

Education and Experience

A Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology or Archaeology is required.

Minimum 1 year of archaeological experience including the production of regulatory deliverables.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time.

Pay Range:
  • Locations Outside of Lower Mainland - BC & Various locations in Ontario-$56,600.00 - $79,200.00 Annually
  • Locations in Lower Mainland - BC, GTA & Ottawa Ontario-$60,000.00 - $84,000.00 Annually

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.

Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) will have access to health, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health care spending account, wellness spending account, group registered retirement savings plan, employee stock purchase program, group tax-free savings account, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage, and paid time off.
