Job summary

The City of Mississauga is seeking an Arborist II to join a skilled team responsible for tree care on streets, parks and natural areas. You will climb, rig, prune and remove trees safely with gear provided, while working in a non-union environment that values teamwork and safety.

You will inspect tree health, manage hazards, interface with the public, document daily tasks, and participate in after-hours Forestry On-Call program.

Qualifications

• ISA Arborist certification required or to be obtained within 6 months.
• Minimum 2 years experience with tree climbing, rigging and removal.
• Valid Ontario driver’s license with clean abstract.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and assess tree health, structure and hazards on streets and parks.
• Perform climbing, rigging, pruning and removal safely at varying heights.
• Operate and maintain gear and vehicles; document daily tasks.
• Engage with the public professionally and provide guidance to staff.
• Participate in Forestry On-Call program and safety briefings.
