Bartlett Tree Experts is a leading arboriculture company in Summerland, BC, recruiting an Arborist Ground Person to join a professional outdoor crew. You will gain hands-on experience in pruning, rigging, cabling, removals, and equipment operation on diverse properties.

You will learn safety procedures, work closely with experienced arborists and crew leaders, and contribute to a culture of safety, learning, and career development through ongoing training and certifications.

Qualifications

• Entry-level arborist role with on-the-job training.
• Valid driver’s license with clean MVR.
• Interest in outdoor year-round work and nature.
• Degree or certificate in Arboriculture/Forestry/Horticulture preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Pruning, rigging, cabling and bracing, removals.
• Properly maintaining and operating equipment (hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts).
• Implementing work zone safety procedures.
• Assisting Arborist Climbers and Crew Leaders on ground and aloft.
• Learning safety rules and company safety policies.

As an Arborist Ground Person, you will play an important role in

• Learning through on-the-job training to safely perform all aspects of arboriculture, including
  • Pruning
  • Rigging
  • Cabling and bracing
  • Removals
  • Properly maintaining and operating equipment (hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts)
  • Implementing work zone safety procedures
  • Assisting Arborist Climbers and Arborist Crew Leaders working on the ground and aloft
  • Assisting with driving, backing, dumping, and parking duties
• Learning, understanding, and adhering to all safety rules and company safety policies
• A passion for nature, the environment, and the outdoors
• Interest in working outdoors year-round in all weather conditions
• Valid driver's license and clean motor vehicle record
• A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to work on a multi-disciplinary team
• Prior tree care, landscaping, forestry, turf care, or horticulture experience is preferred but not required
• Degree or Certificate in Arboriculture, Forestry, Horticulture, Turfgrass, Environmental Science, Plant Science, Outdoor Recreation, Agriculture or a related field is preferred but not required
