Bartlett Tree Experts is recruiting an Arborist Ground Person in Delta, BC. This entry-level role offers hands-on field training with a focus on safe, scientific tree care for commercial and residential properties.

You will join a dedicated team and learn to perform pruning, rigging, cabling, removals, and equipment operation on the job. The position emphasizes safety, ongoing education, and internal advancement.

Qualifications

• On-the-job learning to safely perform all arboriculture tasks.
• Potential to gain expertise in pruning, rigging, cabling, and removals.
• Ability to operate hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts safely.

Responsibilities

• Learn and perform all aspects of arboriculture with guidance from senior arborists.
• Safely prune, rig, cabling, and removals while maintaining equipment.
• Follow work zone safety procedures and support ground and elevated crews.
• Assist with driving, backing, dumping and parking duties as needed.

As an Arborist Ground Person, you will play an important role in

• Learning through on-the-job training to safely perform all aspects of arboriculture, including
  • Pruning
  • Rigging
  • Cabling and bracing
  • Removals
  • Properly maintaining and operating equipment (hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts)
  • Implementing work zone safety procedures
  • Assisting Arborist Climbers and Arborist Crew Leaders working on the ground and aloft
  • Assisting with driving, backing, dumping, and parking duties
• Learning, understanding, and adhering to all safety rules and company safety policies
• A passion for nature, the environment, and the outdoors
• Interest in working outdoors year-round in all weather conditions
• Valid driver's license and clean motor vehicle record
• A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to work on a multi-disciplinary team
• Prior tree care, landscaping, forestry, turf care, or horticulture experience is preferred but not required
• Degree or Certificate in Arboriculture, Forestry, Horticulture, Turfgrass, Environmental Science, Plant Science, Outdoor Recreation, Agriculture or a related field is preferred but not required
