Job summary

Bartlett Tree Experts in Delta, BC, is hiring an Arborist Ground Person to join a safety-forward tree care crew. You will gain practical field experience and participate in hands-on training on residential and commercial properties.

The role emphasizes learning, safety, and a passion for nature, with opportunities to advance and access Bartlett's training programs and resources.

Qualifications

• Entry-level arboriculture role with on-the-job training.
• Preferred but not required: degree/certificate in arboriculture or related field.
• Clean driving record and willingness to work outdoors year-round.

Responsibilities

• Learn on-the-job to safely perform all aspects of arboriculture: pruning, rigging, cabling/bracing, removals.
• Properly maintain and operate equipment: hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts.
• Follow safety procedures and company safety policies.
• Assist Arborist Climbers and Crew Leaders on ground and aloft, including driving and parking duties.

Responsibilities

• Learning through on-the-job training to safely perform all aspects of arboriculture, including
  • Pruning
  • Rigging
  • Cabling and bracing
  • Removals
  • Properly maintaining and operating equipment (hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts)
  • Implementing work zone safety procedures
  • Assisting Arborist Climbers and Arborist Crew Leaders working on the ground and aloft
  • Assisting with driving, backing, dumping, and parking duties
• Learning, understanding, and adhering to all safety rules and company safety policies
• A passion for nature, the environment, and the outdoors
• Interest in working outdoors year-round in all weather conditions
• Valid driver’s license and clean motor vehicle record
• A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to work on a multi-disciplinary team
• Prior tree care, landscaping, forestry, turf care, or horticulture experience is preferred but not required
• Degree or Certificate in Arboriculture, Forestry, Horticulture, Turfgrass, Environmental Science, Plant Science, Outdoor Recreation, Agriculture or a related field is preferred but not required
