Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a Foreperson to lead a crew across multiple job sites in Pickering, Ontario, delivering arboricultural care safely, on schedule, and with a strong emphasis on customer experience.

You will mentor junior team members, provide expert guidance on pruning, removal, and canopy work, and ensure equipment and safety standards are maintained. This full-time on-site role offers ongoing training and benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience as an Arborist.
• ISA certification or enrollment in arboriculture program or equivalent.
• Valid provincial driver’s license; 5-ton vehicle license and air brake endorsement an asset.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to safely direct a team and ascend tree canopies at various heights.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
• Strong tree, knot and shrub identification skills.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently lead a crew providing arboricultural care for clients.
• Directs crew members, equipment, planning and executing tasks.
• Supervise and assist in maintenance, preparation, and operation of tools and equipment.
• Perform tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully.
• Prune, thin, and remove deadwood in canopies.
• Install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
• Remove hazardous trees and provide expert trimming services.
• Manage customer service expectations and adhere to safety policies.
