Job summary

Davey Tree Expert Co. of Canada, Limited in Pickering, Ontario, is seeking a Foreperson to lead a crew at multiple job sites throughout the week.

You will guide the team, mentor newer members and ensure work is performed safely, on time and with excellent customer service. This full-time role requires at least two years as an Arborist, ISA certification or enrollment in arboriculture, a valid Ontario driver’s license, and the ability to lift 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience as an Arborist.
• ISA certification or enrollment in arboriculture program or equivalent is required.
• Valid provincial driver’s license; 5-ton vehicle with air brake endorsement considered an asset.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently lead a crew in providing arboricultural care for clients.
• Directs crew members and equipment as well as planning and executing assigned work.
• Supervise and assist in maintenance, preparation and operation of tools and equipment including hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.
• Pruning, thinning, deadwood removal, and canopy work.
• Install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
• Removal of hazardous trees and property inspections.
• Manage customer service expectations and uphold Davey safety policies.
