Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Co. of Canada, Limited is hiring a Crew Leader in Calgary, Alberta. You will lead a crew across multiple job sites, ensuring safe, on-time arboricultural work and delivering exceptional customer service.

You will mentor team members, directly supervise equipment, and uphold Davey safety standards while performing pruning and removal tasks with chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience as an Arborist.
• ISA certification or enrollment in arboriculture program or equivalent.
• Valid provincial driver’s license; 5-ton vehicle license and air brake endorsement is an asset.
• Ability to safely command a team while ascending tree canopies at heights.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
• Strong tree, knot and shrub identification skills.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently lead a crew in providing arboricultural care for our clients.
• Directs crew members and equipment as well as planning and executing the assigned work and tasks.
• Supervise and assist in maintaining, preparing and operating tools and equipment including hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully.
• Pruning, thinning, removing deadwood in the canopy; installing cables, bracing and lightning protection; removal of hazardous trees.
• Provide expert tree trimming services and inspections to client properties.
• Manage customer service expectations.
• Abide by Davey and industry safety policies and procedures.
