Job summary

Bayview Trucks & Equipment Ltd. is seeking an Apprentice Truck Technician to join our team serving New Brunswick and Nova Scotia locations.

You will help diagnose and repair heavy-duty trucks and trailers, assist with preventive maintenance, and participate in after-hours service as needed. The role requires a college certification in Truck & Transport or Heavy Equipment Service Technician (Block 1 completion), a valid driver’s abstract, and a willingness to continue training.

Qualifications

• Completion of a College certification for Truck & Transport OR Heavy Equipment Service Technician - MINIMUM BLOCK 1 COMPLETION.
• Basic computer skills with the ability to work in Windows based software.
• Clean Driver’s abstract and Criminal Reference check.
• Willing and able to continue training.
• Minimum 4 years experience in a Service environment.

Responsibilities

• Repair and diagnosis of medium and heavy-duty trucks and trailers including engines, power trains, electrical systems, steering, electronics, brakes, and suspension.
• Identify parts required for repair of disassembled units.
• Perform all levels of preventive maintenance services.
• Identify warrantable repairs and document on repair order.
• Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions or verify repair resolution.
• Available to work after-hours service calls for emergencies.
• Work in a team environment with a professional attitude.
• Maintain an organized workspace and follow company policies.
