Job summary

The Bayview Group in Bathurst, NB is hiring for a Technician to service medium and heavy-duty trucks and trailers. This full-time role involves diagnosing, repairing engines, transmissions, electrical and brake systems, and performing preventive maintenance. After-hours emergency coverage may be required.

Qualifications

• College certification in Truck & Transport or Heavy Equipment Service Technician (Block 3).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and meet safety standards.
• Willing to continue training and development.
• Clean driver’s abstract and criminal reference check.
• Basic computer skills and Windows-based software.
• Minimum 4 years of service/repair experience.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair medium and heavy-duty trucks and trailers across systems.
• Identify parts required for repairs and prepare orders.
• Perform preventive maintenance at multiple service levels.
• Road test vehicles to diagnose or verify repairs.
• Complete manufacturer reports accurately and timely.
• Be available for after-hours service calls.

Job description

The Bayview Group is a full service, parts and sales dealer for Kenworth Trucks and KUBOTA farm and construction Equipment. We are currently hiring for our Bathurst New Brunswick location.

• 5 days 8 hours per day
• 4 days 10 hours per day
• 3 days 13.50 hours per day
• Signing Bonus available for Red Seal Certified Heavy Equipment/Truck & Trailer Technicians. Also, completion of Block 4 working on Red Seal Certification. To be eligible for the bonus program resumes must be sent directly to Bayview's job ads.

Key Responsibilities for a Technician:

• Demonstrate proficiency in the repair and diagnosis of medium and heavy-duty trucks and trailers, including but not limited to engines, power trains, electrical systems, steering systems, electronics, brake systems and suspension systems
• Identify and determine parts required for repair of disassembled units.
• Perform all levels of preventive maintenance services
• Identify warrantable repairs and document on repair order.
• Road test vehicles when necessary to diagnose malfunctions or verify repair resolution.
• Complete technical reports from different manufacturers, in a timely accurate manner.
• Available to work covering the After-hours Service call for emergencies.
• Ability to work in a team environment and present themselves in a professional manner with a positive cooperative attitude.
• Maintain an organized workspace and adhere to all company policies and procedures.

Requirements:

• Completion of a College certification for Truck & Transport OR Heavy Equipment Service Technician- MINIMUM BLOCK 3 COMPLETION
• Ability to lift and move a maximum 50 lbs., (or in accordance with provincial workplace health & safety standards)
• Willing and able to continue training.
• Clean Driver’s abstract and Criminal Reference check
• Basic computer skills with the ability to work in Windows based software.
• Minimum 4 years experience in a Service environment.
