Job summary

Teck Resources Limited is seeking an Apprentice, Pipefitter for Trail Operations in Trail, BC. The role reports to the Group Leader and focuses on safety-first maintenance of complex piping systems.

Responsibilities include repairs, preventative maintenance, and fabrication. Candidates must have Grade 12 and a pipefitter foundation or be indentured as an apprentice; related experience is valued.

Qualifications

  • Safety leadership and adherence to environmental rules.
  • Completion of Grade 12 and pipefitting foundation or apprenticeship track.
  • Currently indentured as an apprentice pipefitter or journeyperson plumber with transferable hours.

  • Be a courageous safety leader and follow safety rules.
  • Repair and maintain piping systems integral to operations.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and fabrication work.
  • Able to work independently or as part of a team.

Role Overview

Teck is looking for an experienced Apprentice, Pipefitter to join our team at our Trail Operations, reporting to the Group Leader

Key Responsibilities
  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Repair and maintain a wide variety of complex piping systems that are integral to the operation’s activities
  • Perform preventative maintenance and fabrication work
  • Able to work independently or as part of a team
Qualifications
  • Completion of Grade 12 (please submit a copy of certificate to application)
  • Completion of a Pipefitter/Plumber Foundation course and/or
  • Currently indentured as aapprentice pipefitter
  • Journeyperson Plumber with transferable hours will also be considered
  • WHMIS certification is an asset
  • Related industrial maintenance experience
  • Knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems considered an asset

In addition, our Apprentices receive a variety of advantages including:

  • Financial assistance to help with travel and relocation costs
  • Teck covers the cost of required technical training and schooling for the apprenticeship program, including tuition, mandatory textbooks, and required materials
  • Apprentices also receive salary coverage while attending technical training
  • Apprentices are provided the opportunity to gain hands‑on experience while working alongside certified Journeypersons
  • Structured on‑the‑job training is combined with formal technical training to ensure successful completion of the apprenticeship program
  • Ongoing mentorship and performance support throughout the apprenticeship

Pay Range: $36.56-$46.03 /hr

The actual amount offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
