Job summary

Strike Group is seeking an Apprentice Pipefitter for the Cenovus Christina Lake North plant, north of Conklin, AB. You will read blueprints, assist journeypipefitters, and assemble piping and valves on site while maintaining safety and quality on every task.

You must be a registered 1st or 2nd year Apprentice and ready to obtain required tickets (H2S Alive, CSTS 2020). Camp accommodations and a travel allowance accompany a 8 on/6 off rotation.

Qualifications

• Must be in good standing as a registered 1st or 2nd year Apprentice with provincial or federal authority.
• Willingness to obtain H2S Alive and CSTS 2020 (or PST) tickets; CSTS 09 and CSO/BSO not accepted.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret red-line construction drawings and blueprints (Isometrics, P&ID’s).
• Assist journeyperson pipefitters with installation of equipment, pipe and structural steel on site.
• Assemble piping and valves in module and compressor packages.
• Prepare pipe and fittings for tacking, hoisting, and rigging.
• Hydrotest, assemble, and install pipe spools in the fabrication facility.
• Measure, cut, and thread pipe to required shape.
• Install supports, valves, piping, and control systems.
• Remove and replace worn components and reactivate systems.
