Job summary

Strike Group is hiring a 1st/2nd Year Apprentice Pipefitter for our Cenovus Christina Lake North plant near Conklin, AB. You will read drawings, assist journeypersons with on-site piping and equipment installations, and prepare pipe fittings for assembly and rigging.

Rotation is 8 on/6 off. Camp accommodations are provided and travel allowance is offered. Emphasis on safety, teamwork, and professional growth within western Canada operations.

Qualifications

• Must be a registered 1st or 2nd year Apprentice with the appropriate provincial or federal authority.
• Must pass pre-employment drug & alcohol testing and be willing to work outdoors.
• Must have or be willing to obtain H2S Alive and CSTS 2020 or PST tickets (CSTS 09 and CSO/BSO not accepted).

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret red-line drawings and blueprints (Isometrics, P&ID’s).
• Assist journeypersons with installation of equipment, piping, and steel on site.
• Assemble piping and valves in module and compressor packages, and prepare fittings for rigging.
• Hydrotest, assemble, and install pipe spools in fabrication facilities.
• Measure, cut, and thread pipe; install supports and control systems.
• Replace worn components and reactivate systems promptly.
