Job summary

SOUTHLAND Transportation in Saskatoon is seeking an Apprentice Mechanic (Automotive or Heavy Duty) at 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year level to join our shop team. You will perform ongoing maintenance and repairs on buses, support breakdown responses, and participate in seasonal maintenance tasks.

We offer personalized training, a comprehensive benefits plan after a 3-month probation, and flexibility within your life. A driver’s license and tool set are required or preferred.

Qualifications

  • Registered Apprentice Mechanic; 2nd, 3rd or 4th year levels.
  • Clear criminal record.
  • Own hand tools.
  • Valid Class 2A driver’s license (ideal).
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Computer proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Ongoing maintenance/repair of buses
  • Respond to breakdowns
  • Spring and winter maintenance
  • Complete all documentation associated with equipment repairs
  • Work with shop management to maintain schedules and priorities
  • Follow SOUTHLAND procedures and guidelines
