Job summary

OpenRoad Audi Boundary, part of OpenRoad Auto Group Limited, is hiring an Apprentice Level 1/2 in the Service department. This full-time role offers hands-on repair experience across OEM brands and opportunities for growth within a large automotive group.

You’ll support technicians, work a defined shift, and participate in training programs. The position includes competitive hourly pay and benefits typical for full-time automotive service roles.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of automotive equipment.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to make sound decisions in job functions.
• BC driver’s license with clean abstract.
• Available to work Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Receive repair orders and perform work per repair order, safely and efficiently.
• Coordinate with parts department for needed parts.
• Inspect vehicles to identify additional required work.
• Tag and save parts, especially under warranty or customer request.
• Inform Service Advisor if extra work is needed or if timing changes.
• Notify dispatcher when work starts, finishes, or is interrupted.
• Maintain documentation of performed work and test drive for quality.
• Attend factory training and stay current with bulletins.

Compensation: $20-$24 per hour

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Receive repair orders from dispatch tower/Service Advisor and perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
• Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts.
• Examine the vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required.
• Save and tag parts if the job is under warranty or if requested by the customer.
• Advise Service Advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the time promised.
• Inform dispatcher when job is started, finished, or interrupted. Be particularly attentive to Repair Orders on vehicles marked “RUSH” or “CUSTOMER WAITING”.
• Maintain documentation of work performed.
• Road-test vehicles to quality-check work performed, report any discrepancies to Service Manager.
• Attend factory-sponsored training classes. Keep abreast of factory technical bulletins.
• Ensure that customers’ cars are kept clean.
• Keep shop area neat, clean and free of safety hazards.
• Comply with Federal, Provincial and Municipal regulations, such as those governing the disposal of hazardous wastes.
• Follow company safety policies and practices, and immediately, report any and all accidents to a Manager/Supervisor.
• This position will be expected to perform other duties as assigned by management.

• Well-developed interpersonal skills to effectively work with other members of the Service Department team.
• Must be committed to consistently delivering high quality work.
• Ability to make sound decisions in a manner consistent with the essential job functions.
• A valid British Columbia driver’s license, with clean drivers abstract
• Be available to work shift Saturdays.
